News and Information
I had a great weekend at Blair Horse Trials this weekend. Well done to all the riders and winners as conditions were far from perfect!
It was a great event with a real party atmosphere and I will definitely go back next year (but possibly not camp!)
Please check out the blog for some pictures and a report of the eventing. Pictures of the riders will be available to purchase as well in a special Gallery.
We also went harness racing at Musselburgh in August. Action packed doesn't seem to cover it, it was fast, furious and very colourful and I loved taking the pictures. Pics can soon be seen in the 'Racing and Polo' Gallery on the main page.
We have changed our portfolio images above to add some new sections and a whole lot of new images which we wouldn't normally place on our main gallery.
We've added some images from Portugal's Golega Horse Fair and the surrounding area which we are very fond of as well as some portraits and competition shots.
Please have a look around by just clicking on the thumbnail for each category.
Thanks very much.

Our site is about to have a facelift so please excuse us as we put this temporary site in place and modify the content as we go.
We're hiding a lot of our older content as we intend to roll all the various sections of the site together. This means we will not be taking on any web design work over the next few months as we intend to showcase the photography side of Equine Photographic a lot more.
We're in the middle of adding new galleries to the main site which show our portrait and event coverage and we're overhauling our logo again.
1. What if the weather is bad when I have my portraits taken?
if the weather forecast for your location is poor for the day of the shoot, please contact us in plenty of time and we can postpone the shoot. Rain and high winds are as problematic for photography as they are for horses and we would rather come back at a later date and have the horses, riders and photographer at their best rather than risk an album of soggy and unhappy looking horses.
If you have organised to be photographed at a certain competition however, we will take the best pictures possible for those conditions but can't be responsible for the weather.....!
2. Will my purchased pictures have ©Equine Photographic on them?
No, all our lower resolution images on our main gallery are protected by the Copyright symbol to prevent people downloading them with payment or passing them off as their own work. If you order prints or a full resolution download from us it will be free of any copyright symbols. We retain the ownership of the original images of course, but you can make as many prints from the JPGs as you wish and use them for whatever purpose you want barring publication or commercial use (including publicity). See item 9 for more detail.
3. Why don't you have more photographs on each gallery?
We are not in the business of blanket coverage event photography so we can afford to concentrate on higher quality and more interesting shots for our galleries. We hope this makes it more pleasant for you to browse and to find pictures you genuinely like. If you do see us at an event and would like us to take shots of you on the day just ask and we will be more than happy to oblige.
4. What is the resolution of the downloads?
We often slightly crop the original images we take to provide a better picture, therefore the actual image size you download is not always the same from picture to picture. We do not crop excessively however, so all of our pictures for sale are around the 2500 x 2000 pixel range.
5. How many pictures can I buy at once?
Given the large size of the images, we do not recommend buying a large amount of download pictures at once as the download size will be quite high and your connection may have problems downloading such a high amount of data. This is especially true if you only have a dial up connection to the internet. If you do want to download a large amount or have a slow internet connection, please contact us and we can discuss how best to get your files to you.
If you want to order A4 prints however, you can order as many of these as you like and we will be happy to process these for you.
6. I don't have a Pay Pal account, how can I pay?
We can take payment by cheque though it takes longer to clear and process. At the checkout part of the process, select Pay by Cheque and fill out your details. We will then process the email and respond to you with details of how and where to send the cheque. Once the cheque has cleared we can then process your order.
7. How long will my prints take to arrive?
We will endeavour to send your prints out within 2-4 working days of receipt of your order (excepting cheque payment, please see above)
8. Do I own the copyright of anything I buy?
The purchase of a print/JPG does not entitle the use of that print/JPG for anything other than personal use. Equine Photographic retain copyright unless the copyright is purchased from us. Written permission MUST be obtained from Equine Photographic if the print is to be used in any publication or website including, but not limited to, advertising or event publicity. If you wish to use any of our images for commercial or publicity use, please contact us to discuss terms and conditions.
Personal use includes the use of images in personal materials or to print out yourself as many times as you wish but not for publication such as Equestrian magazines or websites regardless of their nature.
If you are unsure, please contact us for any clarification.
